Gorgeous strand of Carolina blue glass saucer beads. These can be used to add a pop of color, and texture in any vignette! Layer them in a bowl, or vase or lay them over a coffee table book. So many ways to style!
The technique of making these beads is unique to Africa and has been used for over 1000 years. Crushed glass is poured into a clay mold, and a cassava stem is used for the bead's hole. The mold is placed in a furnace and heated until the glass particles congeal without actually melting and the stem burns out. Each bead measures approximately 13-14mm in diameter, and strand is 24". .
